But you know… I honestly think that math words like “Algebra” and “Calculus” psyche people out. I remember staring at my first “Calculus” text book and the word sounded so big and impressive that I felt it would surely be beyond my understanding and be the class that finally proved I wasn’t smart.

I was wrong. I loved it. It was my favorite math class ever — even better than ‘fruit’ math. LOL

If you let the anxiety of failing math mess with your mind, your poor brain won’t have room to process and solve the questions.

Really algebra is just a word, and there’s a simple method to solving the equations. The same thing with calculus… it’s just a logical process to follow to work out the answer. Almost all of the math questions — algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics — you get on any high-school, college or university test can be solved with an almost “recipe-like” logical process.

You’re clearly a brilliant woman, and you must believe that math is nothing more than logic that you WILL learn.

(All that said, please don’t ask me to solve a calculus question now… 15 years later I’ve forgotten how to solve even the easiest question. But that just proves that it was simply something I learned, because I’ve now forgotten it. I wasn’t born knowing how to solve calculus problems — I learned. And now I’ve forgotten, and surprisingly life goes on.)

I’m glad to hear that SO FAR you are doing well!!! I’ll pray with you about the remainder of your time there! (Sounds like you are in jail. lol)
