- No cooking. (Unless you count making coffee in the hotel room each morning.)
- No cleaning. (Except for when your friend insists on straightening up the bed - what’s up with that…?)
- Diet Coke and shared desserts. (Who knew that something called spumoni could taste so good?)
- Morning Starbucks stops (This is an absolute given.)
- Understanding one another’s in-bred need for occasional bubble baths and two minutes of uninterrupted solitude.
- Diet Coke and shared desserts. (cheesecake at Champions Bar & Grill!)
- Tylenol A.M. (’cause you didn’t take it until 1 a.m.!)
- Uncontrolled laughter in the middle of a sermon. (Come on, don’t TELL me that’s never happened to you!)
- Diet Coke and shared desserts. (a midnight [almost] walk to the Shell station for DC when the hotel only serves <gulp> Pepsi products!)
- Hearing a song during altar service and knowing it was God’s gift - meant just for your friend.
- Non-intentional stalking and "picture girls."
- Learning new words and their definitions! (ex: Pat; boogie boys; spumoni)
- Diet Coke and shared desserts. (Or maybe it’s just the friends who share your passion for the Diet Coke and who don’t mind asking for two extra spoons to do the sharing.)

Dear Daughter of mine.
Posted on August 12th, 2006 at 6:50 pmThanks for letting me tag along to the conference. It was great fun and I always enjoy spending time with you and your friends. It makes me feel so special to be a part of your life. I love you so much and am so proud of you for the lady that you have become.
Mom
I can’t decide if it was the Diet Coke or the Starbucks I loved sharing the most! Maybe it was the stalking that changed my life. Likely, it was a combination of all 13 things that made this weekend one of the best bar none! I love you and had an awesome time with all of you!
Posted on August 12th, 2006 at 8:56 pmI am not sure where it was that I laughed the hardest - on the steps beneath the “picture girls” OR the uncontrollable laughter in the middle of the sermon when the speaker seemingly told us to “sleep on” OR[unintentionally] stalking that woman with the white slippers OR falling over in front of the elevators while the “picture girls” took pictures of us (and then running into the woman with the white slippers AGAIN)! Somewhere between the laughing, the crying, the praying, and all that sharing, I feel like I have been blessed beyond measure. Thank you for inviting me to share with you. I love all of you. I have made memories that will last a life time.
Posted on August 12th, 2006 at 10:41 pmStaci, I always love your blog. I learn a lot about you and your friends. Coldwater Revival sounds like my kind of book. I’m looking forward to reading your new one too. Love, Linda
